The Last Days of Night, a novel by Graham Moore

I read this through NetGalley.com. The book will be published in September 2016.

This historical/scientific evidence/business thriller set in the late 19th century focuses on the battle over the burgeoning science of electricity waged between Thomas Edison, George Westinghouse, and Nikola Tesla. The protagonist is a young attorney who is surprisingly hired by Westinghouse to battle Edison's 300+ suits against his company over the light bulb. The battle expands to encompass alternating versus direct current and goes on from there. And it is all fascinating and deftly told with compelling characters, almost all of whom are based on real people and real history. I understand a movie deal has already been struck, and I am looking forward to it. The author earlier wrote The Sherlockian, which I also enjoyed. Highly recommended.
